We’re not 24 hours over the finale of Love Island 2021 (congrats, Millie and Liam!), and yet the applications for the 2022 season are already open. Yep, Laura Whitmore announced the news last night that the show will be coming back in the summer of 2022, and you can apply now.
So, if you’re interested (or know someone who would be absolutely ideal), here’s everything you need to know.

The application itself reveals: “How do you fancy finding love in the sun? We’re now on the lookout for lively singles from across the country to take part. ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of love! The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island. If you think you’ve got what it takes, then we want to hear from you straight away.”
Of course, you must be over 18 to apply, or at least 18 years of age by the application closing date. You’ll then fill out a pretty thorough form, and if you happen to catch the producer’s attention, there’s a whole audition process with plenty of interviews.

But how do you catch their attention? Well, it turns out that there are a few key traits that the producers keep an eye out for.
“It’s all about having a great mix of desirable, aspirational singletons who have interesting and engaging personalities to keep our viewers glued and entertained by what’s going on in the villa,” casting producer for the show Lewis Evans says.
“One of the main questions we ask, from the outset, is if they would choose love or money,” Lewis says. “It’s always important to us that anyone coming onto the show is open to finding the girl or guy of their dreams.”
Finally, Lewis added, “If you think you’ve got what it takes, go for it.”
So if you think you do, you can check out how to apply right here.
