When Does Winter Love Island Start?

Here's when the show will return!

As the chill has well and truly creeped in, we’re looking for something, anything to warm ourselves up. One thing that always brings good summer vibes, even in the depths of winter, is Love Island.

Watching new reality stars prance around in swimwear, chill by the pool and heat things up romantically while going on glorious dates on yachts and to vineyards? Yeah we need this back in our lives ASAP.

Luckily, it’s on its way, kind of. Although ITV have not released an official start date for the winter series, which is returning this year with new host Maya Jama taking the reigns from Laura Whitmore, there are rumours of a proposed launch date and it’s one that everyone will appreciate.

A source told the UK Sun, “Love Island bosses have planned for the show to start on Blue Monday ( 16th January 2023)– which is bound to give fans a massive lift on such a gloomy day.

“This year’s contestants will be flown out to South Africa earlier in January and will start filming for the first episode the day before. The grand finale will take place eight weeks later on March 13.

“The villa is absolutely amazing, Maya is raring to go and this series’ contestants are looking to be the sexiest ever. It is a really exciting time for everyone who works on the show and they cannot wait to get started.”

If this is true, January has just gotten better already, the post Christmas slump will be sufficiently eased with our favourite dating show.

This is the second time the show is returning to our screens in the winter months, with the first winter season airing in 2020 with Paige Turley and Finlay Tapp as the winners.
