How To Cure Acne, According To Kendall Jenner’s Dermatologist
Kendall Jenner's skin guru has revealed the acne-banishing products she uses on our fave reality star.
It’s hard to believe from her high fashion shoots, or even her paparazzi photos, that Kendall Jenner ever suffered from acne. But believe it or not the 20-year-old model wrote a very personal blog post about it on her website last year, revealing the effect it had on her confidence.
“Where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it,” she writes. “It completely ruined my self esteem. I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face.”
So given that Kendall now oozes confidence on the Victoria’s Secret runway and has one of the most glowing, clear complexions we’ve ever seen, we naturally wanted to to find out how she overcame her old acne woes.
The woman behind her fresh-faced transformation? Beverly Hills dermatologist Christie Kidd, who, lucky for us, has posted a video in which walks viewers through Kendall’s morning and evening acne skincare regime.
The first thing Kendall does in the morning is wash her face with a gentle cleanser Christie formulated called Clean.
Christie says that if you have acne, it’s good to avoid any harsh scrubs. “I never want you washing your face with anything abrasive,” she advises. “Not a scrub, not a rotating brush, not a washcloth. You want to treat it very delicately and just wash really well with your [clean] hands.”
After KJ rinses off the cleanser and pats her face with a soft towel, she uses Christie’s Acne Fresh Pads to treat any breakouts. Kendall’s third step is Eltamd UV Clear SPF 46, a sunblock for acne-prone skin.
At night, Kendall washes her face with the same cleanser and applies the same acne pads afterward. Then she pats on Christie’s Renewal Serum. “This dries up the active blemishes, and it’s going to start working on your scarring,” says Christie. We’ll take 10 bottles please!
