The Pippa Palette By Blank Canvas: We Have Swatches & Pictures!
One of the year's most eagerly-anticipated beauty launches, we're taking a look at the pretty new Pippa Palette for Blank Canvas Cosmetics.
Landing on Pippa.ie and Blank Canvas Cosmetics‘ websites very soon, we’ve had a preview sample of the Pippa Palette in the office for a couple of weeks, held under lock and key – in between staffers begging for a look, that is.
Pretty pink packaging with a card slipcover houses the palette, which contains six shadows and three cheek colours; there’s a generous mirror inside the lid and Pippa’s done away with the addition of a fiddly (and often useless) brush: we never use the ones that come with palettes so hey, we’re happy with that.
The second thing that really struck us about this is the fact that all the shadow shades are mattes. Hallelujah! Unless you build your own palette at a brand like MAC or Inglot, this pretty much never happens in a kit like this, and mattes are a basic that get completely overlooked in a beautyscape where everyone’s obsessed with shimmer and glitter and strobing – but they’re essential. So to find six well-considered neutral mattes along with the cheek colours is all sorts of Perfect Fingers Emoji4life.
Shades, as Pippa outlines over on her site, all have deep personal meaning: Susu is her sister, Ollie is her little guy and K.D is her granddad, for example. Adorbs.
When it comes to pigmentation, the shades naturally vary in their depth across colour (black will always appear more pigmented than an ivory, for example) and these are swatched onto a dry hand. We’d say in general they’re medium-pigmented. You can see them in order above.
The face shades in order; Lulu, Pipsy and Amour, for highlight, blush and contour, are again named for personal reasons. Lulu was Pippa’s mum, Pipsy is self-explanatory and Amour is for hubby Brian (aww!). These are creamier and the highlighter is a beautiful champagne shimmer.
For a Pippa O’Connor fan, this is going to be a must. It’s maybe going to suit girls with a slightly warmer-toned complexion a little better – but everyone will get something from it (that highlighter!) and it’s a nice payday treat to yo’self too. The palette will normally retail at €39.99, but you can buy it right now €34.99 on both Pippa.ie and Blank Canvas Cosmetics sites. It’ll remain at €34.99 on Pippa.ie, FYI.
Is this one you’ll be picking up?
