5 Protein & Carb-Rich Breakfasts That Will Power You Through Until Lunch
Tummy grumbling before it's even hit 11? Fuel up properly in the AM with these super satisfying and seriously energising healthy breakfast ideas.
It’s easy to reach for empty carbs in the morning (bagel, anyone?), but a revamp of your morning meal could be just the thing you need. Having a breakfast high in protein and carbs will help you feel full longer and keep your energy levels on an even keel until lunch hour.
We’ve gathered some yummy brekkie ideas to keep you fully charged until lunchtime at least.
1. Tutti frutti muesli
This low-fat morning delight offers an ideal blend of protein and carbs. If your mornings are rushed we suggest making yoghurt cups up to three days in advance. We love to add winter berries for extra nutrition that satisfies all morning long.
2. Peanut butter & jelly smoothie
This Peanut Butter Jelly Smoothie is packed with Oomph and has all the goodness from greek yoghurt, milk, strawberries, and (STELLAR office fave) peanut butter. The high-protein content and the good portion of carbs make it a delicious morning pick me up. And the ingredients are SO simple. Nothing fancy, nothing requiring another trip to the supermarket, nothing you need a dictionary for. Sold.
3. Whole-wheat brekkie burritos
Spice up your mornings with these cracking breakfast burritos. They have everything you need for a healthy well balanced breakfast. Add in some veggies or salsa for extra flavour.
4. Whole wheat pancakes
Making these pancakes is actually really simple. There’s no crazy ingredients you’ve never heard of, and nothing requiring you to spend a tenner on a crazy sugar substitute you can’t pronounce; just plain everyday ingredients like whole wheat flour, egg, quick oats, milk, and yoghurt. Add a side of turkey sausage for extra protein. Not too shabby, right?
5. Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts
Simple and delicious, you will throw this little brekkie number together in seconds. It’s just creamy greek yoghurt drizzled with sweet rich honey and sprinkled with crispy walnuts and cinnamon. You’ll feel like you’re eating something bad, when really you’re getting all the benefits of protein, carbs and probiotics. We <3.
