4 Signs You And Your Boyfriend Might Not Last
If you can tick yes to any of these signs chances are you and bae aren't in it for the long haul.
Relationships are a complex business, eh? And no matter how loved up or happy you are, sometimes you can’t help but ask yourself, ‘where is this really going?’ Sometimes though, it can help to see the signs of a split before it actually happens. Spotting the red flags means you can make the decision to work through your difficulties or walk away.
Here are four of the big warning signs to look out for…
1. He’s insecure
It might seem mighty flattering, but if he’s forever saying “you’re too good for me,” or “why are you with someone like me?” then studies have found it probably won’t last. There’s nothing wrong with a little self-doubt every now and again, but if he’s constantly saying how much better you are than him, he likely has some self confidence issues he needs to sort out on his own.
2. The sex is bad
This is a deal breaker. In fact, according to the book Should I Keeping Trying To Work It Out? 1 in 5 ladies admitted that if the sex isn’t up to standard they will end their relationship STAT. Sure you don’t mind missing the occasional orgasm, but over time a lack of passion can fester and that’s seriously bad news for your relationship. We say work out your orgasm issues, or move on.
3. You’ve stopped fighting
You never nag him about the dishes anymore, and you’ve given up fighting over the remote. This may seem like a peculiar one, but according to a study carried out by The Gottman Institute fighting (within reason) is the sign of a strong relationship, not a weak one, so if you can’t be bothered to fight about the things that matter, it might be that your relationship just isn’t worth it anymore.
4. You’ve started fantasising
Have you suddenly started noticing how cute your barista is? Or finding that you’ve been flirting with that guy at the gym? A roving eye is often a sign that you’re not feeling valued. If it’s a lack of appreciation that has you fantasising about another fella, confront your guy and find ways to rekindle the romance. Otherwise, it may be time to end it.
