8 Things That Broke The Internet In 2015
It wasn't just Kim K's arse that broke the internet in 2015. Nuh-uh, these big topics were trending too.
1. The Dress
Who can forget the blue/black/white/gold dress. It caused heated debates and in some cases friendships were lost trying to decide whether this dress was blue and black or white and gold. The true colour of the dress was confirmed to be blue and black, but seriously who’d have known?!
2. Caitlyn Jenner
Vanity Fair’s July cover of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner had the whole world talking, for all the right reasons. Caitlyn wowed the world with her fabulous cover photo and the work she has done for trans people since the photo has seen her named Glamour Magazine’s Woman of the Year.
3. Zayn Malik leaving 1D
When Zayn announced he was leaving 1D it sent the whole world into a tizzy. Millions of Directioners’ hearts were broken when the news broke and it was one of the most talked (and cried) about stories of 2015.
4. Adele’s comeback
We were all expecting it but no one expected the new album to be just as phenomenal as it was. The debut single Hello blew everyone’s mind and was the second fastest YouTube track to hit over 100 million views. We’re not surprised!
5. Beauty blogger Em Ford
This beauty blogger delivered a powerful message to girls all around the world while responding to her cyberbullies. Em made a video compiled with the hateful comments people had left her when she posted photos with no make-up. We think this gal is a serious inspiration and we hope she breaks the internet again in 2016.
6. Kylie Jenner’s Lips
Is there a day this gal doesn’t break the internet? From the Kylie Jenner lip challenge to her fab new lip kit, her pout was a seriously hot topic in 2015. We wonder what part of her body will break the internet in 2016?!
7. Kim K’s arse
The only lady who could break the internet with her arse is Kim K, and we must admit we’re a tad jealous we can’t balance glasses of champagne on our rear ends. This risqué shoot with Paper Magazine had people talking for weeks.
8. The Irish marriage referendum
Undeniably the most important and exciting thing to break the internet in 2016 was the marriage ref. May 25th will go down in history as one of the most memorable days ever, with the #HomeToVote, #YesEquality and #LoveWins hashtags all trending on Twitter.
