A Female Bodybuilder Is Facing Major Backlash For Body-Shaming A Woman At The Gym

“I bet she's ordering burgers.”

The gym should be a place where we all feel comfortable, albeit a little sweaty. After all, everyone’s there for the same purpose: to feel good, look good and get fit.

That’s why taking a jibe at someone else’s journey seems so non-sensical. Just because they’re not at the same point in the road as you are, doesn’t give you permission to shame them for it.

One woman facing backlash for doing just that is female body builder Diana Andrews. Diana took to Instagram stories to post a video of a fellow gym goer on the treadmill with the caption “Love handles.”

She then shared a second snap, adding “I bet she’s ordering burgers for delivery.”

Pretty harsh, huh?

Not surprisingly, countless fans wrote to Diana slamming her for her decision to make fun of another woman at the gym, and she has since taken to Facebook to publicly apologise for her actions.

“I want to explain myself for what I have done. Tuesday evening after my training session. I saw this girl walking on the treadmill talking on her phone and I made a video and added a comment that she’s probably ordering take away,” she wrote.

“The whole point of this video was that she’s using her phone while on the treadmill. The whole story was turned upside down by taking a screenshot and adding comments that I’m body shaming this woman.

“I would never do this it’s not who I am,” she added. “I’m always encouraging people to do their best and push themselves. I’m here to motivate especially women to don’t be afraid and get that work done. People that know me knows I’m not a bully. I deeply regret that I took that video.”
