Ant McPartlin Has Spoken Out About His Drug Abuse And It’s Pretty Heartbreaking

Everyone was pretty shocked when the news emerged back in June that Ant McPartlin, one half of TV duo Ant & Dec had been admitted to rehab following a struggle with drug use.

Well now, the I’m A Celebrity..Get Me Out Of Here presenter has given his first interview since entering rehab, and has opened up about how he got to where he is.

“I was at the point where anything — prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs — I would take.” Ant told The Sun on Sunday.

“And take them with alcohol, which is ridiculous. The doctors told me, ‘You could have killed yourself’.

“I was depressed through the whole thing because I was in pain and immobile.”

Ant continued on to thank everyone close to him for their support, and to urge others going through similar experiences to speak out.

“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends through this really difficult time.

“I have spoken out because I think it is important that people ask for help if they are going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”
