Awful! This Woman Was Added To A Private Group Chat Full Of X-Rated Messages About Her

She said she felt “Dirty, embarrassed and so, so offended” after reading the messages.

Eleanor

It sounds like a nightmare plot, but when 22-year-old Eleanor Henry uncovered x-rated messages about her written by her male classmates, it felt like anything but fiction.

Eleanor, who is currently studying law in Melbourne, Australia, claims that on Saturday night she was mistakenly added to a group chat, that featured explicit comments about her made by four male students at her college.

Two of the men Eleanor had completed a group assignment with. The other two she had never met.

One comment in the thread referred to Eleanor as a ‘bike.’ Another comment under a picture the men had shared of her said “I’d throw her on that bed.”

A third comment read “Show me where you p*ss from.”

“”At first I was very upset. I burst into tears. I was very humiliated,” Eleanor told Yahoo7. “I felt so objectified. I didn’t feel like a person.”

After discovering the messages and consulting with her sister on the matter, Eleanor then decided to name and shame the four men on Facebook, along with screenshots of the conversation.

“Let’s all wave hello to my fellow peers at Melbourne University. This is why I’ll die a feminist. It’s 2016. Let’s get back to that conversation on equality,” Eleanor wrote on the post, which has since received an outpouring of support from other women.

“After speaking with my sister I began to feel angrier and more passionate to evoke change,” Eleanor explained to The Daily Mail.

“Initially though, which is very unlike me, I felt dirty, embarrassed and so, so offended. As a result I decided to publicly post the screenshots because I don’t think it’s right that this culture is perpetuated.”

According to Eleanor, two of the men have since offered, what she describes as, “relatively heartfelt apologies.”
