Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Isn’t Called Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Anymore
She's gone for another name change and we kinda like it.
Tweedy/Cole/Fernandez-Versini; Cheryl’s had a selection of names throughout the years.
Kicking off her career as Cheryl Tweedy in Girls Aloud, her surname changed to Cole when she married Ashley Cole in 2006 – and it stayed that way long after their divorce, right up until last year when she married new beau Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
But what now that Cheryl and Jean Bernard have officially split and she’s dating One Direction hottie Liam Payne?
Well, it seems Cheryl is keen to put the split behind her and has chosen to simply go by the name “Cheryl.”
According to an unknown source who spoke to The Mirror, Cheryl will be attending the Global Gift Gala in Paris next month and everyone there is under strict instructions to refer to her only as Cheryl.
They told The Mirror: “Cheryl wants to wipe the slate clean and start afresh with a new name, now the divorce is going through. Things turned pretty nasty over the weekend, with both Cheryl and JB making comments on social media, so from hereon in, she will just be known as Cheryl.
“Her last album in 2014 was released under the name ‘Cheryl’, too, but everyone still called her by her new married name,” they continued. “This time around, everyone is under strict instructions that she is just Cheryl, nothing else. Organisers at next month’s event were told that all announcements of Cheryl’s attendance should only refer to her as Cheryl.”
So, to clarify, it’s no longer Cheryl Cole or Cheryl VF it’s strictly just Cheryl, y’hear?
