Did Amy Schumer Just Body-Shame Taylor Swift With This Instagram Post?
Everyone's accusing her of taking aim at Taylor's slim frame. What do you think?
Amy Schumer is one of our favourite funny ladies, but her latest gag has fans asking if she’s taken her humour a little too far.
The target of her LOLs? Taylor Swift. A day after Taylor wore a thigh-split skirt to the Grammys, Amy seemed to be jesting her, with an Instagram post about her thigh gap.
Posting a snap of herself on the beach, Amy captioned her pic “Taylor that’s not a thigh gap. This a thigh gap” and her followers were seriously not impressed, with many accusing her of body-shaming.
“I’m naturally skinny, I eat what I want when I want, I don’t starve myself and I am beautiful. So why are you allowed to love your curves but it’s wrong for others to love their ‘bones’?,” asked one. “Why is it ok for you to shame people who are skinny, but it’s horrible if someone calls a person fat? If you can feel beautiful for being ‘big’, we can feel beautiful for being small. GET OVER IT!!”
“Don’t even try and promote body acceptance when you’ll happily put someone down for being skinnier than you. Pathetic,” commented another.
Others were quick to defend Amy though, saying that it was supposed to be funny. “Wow. People really can’t take a joke. She’s not bashing anyone, she’s just having a JOKE,” one of Amy’s fans commented.
What do you reckon? Were Amy’s comments out of line?
