Everyone’s Going To Be Lampshading In 2016, But, Um, What Is It?

With each new year comes a whole host of weird and wonderful new fashion trends. But while many of them won’t make it past the catwalk and into our wardrobes, the latest fashion craze on our radar isn’t only going to be huge on the runway this year, it’s also going to be a major player in our wardrobes too.

Lampshading is a gorge-o new street style look, made popular by celebs like Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kate Moss that basically involves teaming a fabulous pair of over-the-knee boots with a long, oversized shirt or sweater to create a cute ‘n’ casual but ever so stylish outfit.

First appearing on the A/W15 runways, the trend is less about achieving the perfect hourglass figure, and more about creating a silhouette you’re likely to find sitting on your, er, end table.

The best bit? It’s a perfect look to throw together for girls on the go and if you pop on a pair of tights it’s totally Irish weather-proof too.
