This Is Why People Are Saying Kim And Kanye’s ‘Date Night’ This Week Was A PR Stunt
Date night or a chance to be seen by cameras?
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West stepped out in Santa Monica earlier this week for their first public date in months.
Since being attacked at gunpoint in Paris on October 3rd, 2016, Kim has been lying low for the most part, but on Sunday night she headed out for dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica with her husband in tow. The couple were pictured leaving the restaurant, looking sombre as Kanye walked a few steps behind his wife.

Given the divorce rumours that have been swirling around the couple in recent weeks, some fans reckon the dinner date was nothing more than a PR stunt to put the speculation to rest. Giorgio Baldi is a celebrity hotspot – Rihanna’s a big fan – meaning there was every chance the paparazzi would be on hand to snap the couple going in and out.
“They went out together in public to try and stop the rumours about their divorce,” an insider told Radar Online, adding that the night out wasn’t necessarily her choice. “Kim feels like everything is too soon for Kanye,” the source added. “He shouldn’t be out at dinner and he shouldn’t be going all over the place.”
As for outfit choices, Kim appeared to be making efforts to tone down her signature heavy glamour look, opting for a white dress with just a few thin gold necklaces and her wedding band, rather than any ostenatious jewels or statement jewellery. She couldn’t resist throwing a long black fur coat on top, however, but as Kim’s looks go, this one is still very toned down indeed.
Kanye’s had a week of controversy since being discharged from hospital earlier this month. Last week the rapper headed to Trump Tower to meet with Donald Trump, in a move which didn’t go down too well among his fellow celebs. The most notable piece of criticism came from the Kardashian clan’s long-time friend John Legend, who said he was “disappointed” before later back-tracking and saying the incident was “fine” by him.
