Just when you thought 2020 couldn’t bring on any more heartache, news has come that actress Lily James and Dr. Who boyfriend Matt Smith have broken up.

The two first began dating in 2014, and have been on-and-off-again since then. It’s believed that they last ended their relationship in December of last year, before getting back together again this spring. But an insider has told The Sun that they have split for good due to ‘differences they just can’t get past’.

“Lily and Matt were a picture-perfect couple for years but there are just some differences they haven’t been able to get past,” the source said.

“They have gone back and forth this year trying to sort things out between them because they both have so much love for each other.”

But sadly their love for one another just apparently wasn’t enough, and this time they’ve ended things for good after six years of being in one another’s lives.

“But unfortunately it just isn’t working and they have mutually decided to just close this chapter of their lives.”

The ‘pal’ also went on to spill the beans on Lily, saying that she wants to find another partner at some point, and preferably someone who isn’t famous.

“Now Lily just wants to find a normal guy who’s not in the spotlight because she found it quite tough being with another celebrity.”

In recent times Lily was spotted out and about with Avengers star Chris Evans, while rumours have been circulating that Matt is now dating actress Emilia Clark, but both Lily and Matt are yet to confirm or deny the gossip.
