Lorde Has Issued An Apology For Those “Really Insensitive” Comments She Made About Her Friendship With Taylor Swift

She compared being friends with Taylor Swift to being friends with someone who has an autoimmune disease.

Sometimes, just like the rest of us, celebs say silly things without thinking. Unlike us though, their comments are often put on blast to the rest of the world, leaving them vulnerable to a sh*t tonne of scrutiny.

That’s exactly what happened to Lorde when she attempted to describe what it’s like being friends with a super famous pal to The Guardian.

In comments, seeming to allude to her friendship with Taylor Swift, Lorde said: “It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”

Not surprisingly, many people who live with the reality of having an autoimmune disease every day of their lives are pretty pissed off about the comments and have taken to Twitter vent.

Attempting to rectify the situation, Lorde has since issued an apology via Twitter, writing “Didn’t mention Taylor, but regardless, I fucked up & that was really insensitive. I’m sorry.”
