Margot Robbie’s Pre Suicide Squad Exercise Routine Is As Intense As You’d Imagine

So that's how she looked so good in those hotpants.

Margot Suicide Squad

While the reviews for Suicide Squad have been mixed, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Margot Robbie, who plays supervillian Harley Quinn in the film, is in insane shape right now.

So what has she being doing to prep for her role, most of which involves wearing the most teeny tiny hotpants?

Well, Margot’s trainer Andie Hecker has revealed the sweat sessions she put in for 14 days before filming, and we’re tired just reading about them.

To hone her physique ahead of filming, Margot put in between two and three hours A DAY down the gym, focusing on a mix of pilates, ballet and ‘non-bulking cardio’ which includes moves like rope jumps, rebounders and ballet jumps.

Add to that, there was a whole lot of resistance work too. Hecker explains that Margot used a combo of heavy weights and low reps to change her body in such a short space of time.

But that’s not all.

“We also did a ton of side series outer thigh work,” Hecker tells People.com, “targeting outer glutes with high reps and low weights, to pull those muscles in and create a beautiful line from the waist to the upper thigh.”

And it seems that Margot’s hard work certainly paid off.

Speaking of her transformation, Hecker gushed that Margot was a “total trooper”, adding that “It was very satisfying to see her body change into exactly what she wanted it to look like in such a short time.”
