Move Over Harry Styles, There’s Another Celeb In The Running To Be Baby Payne’s Godparent

Judging by their recent social media updates, Liam and Cheryl are taking to parenthood particularly well, but should they need a little extra support, it seems there’s a long list of celebs willing to take on god-parenting duties.

First Harry Styles said he’d be “honoured” to take on the role, now he’s got some competition in the form of X Factor boss Simon Cowell. “I haven’t had the call yet but I would be a godfather if asked”, Simon confirmed to The Mirror.

What’s more, Simon also gave some insight into how Chezza’s finding parenthood. “Cheryl seems in a good place,” he said. “Having gone through it myself it is quite nerve racking, but this is going to be the making of her. From people I know who have been with her, apparently she’s ecstatic so I’m happy for her.”

Perhaps even cuter, Simon seems keen to set up a playdate between baby Payne and his son Eric.

When asked if he’d been asked over to Cheryl and Liam’s pad to meet the little one, he explained “If I get an invite I would go round to visit. Or she can come down to the show with him and they can make friends with Eric.”

Awww. That’s super adorable. But with some six siblings between them, we reckon Cheryl and Liam will probably be keeping god-parenting duties in the family.
