Sorry, But If You Use Any Of These 25 Passwords, It’s Highly Likely You’re Going To Get Hacked

Unless you want to leave all your accounts vulnerable, avoid, avoid, avoid.

Logging into computer

These days we have a million different online accounts and that means a million different passwords to go with them. That’s a whole lot of random words and numbers to keep stored in our heads, so naturally most of us go for the handiest and most memorable logins we can think of (er, 123456, we’re looking at you).

But, not surprisingly going for a mighty obvious password is a mighty big mistake, and leaves you vulnerable to nasty hackers.

As a rule of thumb, passwords should be a minimum of eight characters long, and a mix of symbols, letters and numbers. Choosing a login that has sentimental value, unless it’s something which can be easily guessed, like your date of birth or home address, can make it easier to remember too.

Crucially though, internet security software firm SplashData have released a list of the most hackable passwords, so whatever you do, you should avoid using any of these.
