The Cost Of An Irish Wedding Has Been Revealed – And It’s Pricey As Hell
You might want to increase that bridal budget.
The cake, the cars, and of course, the dress. The cost of a wedding doesn’t take long adding up, and it seems for brides and grooms hoping to tying the knot in 2017 those costs are only getting bigger.
That is according to a survey by Weddings Online that revealed the cost of an Irish wedding is approximately €24,427, up eight percent on last year’s estimate of €22,531.
Why’s it got so expensive? Well, half of the couples surveyed admitted that going over their budgets had made things more pricey, with 17 percent even taking out a loan to cover the costs.
Most Irish couples are also opting to celebrate their wedding on Fridays and Saturdays, which are the most expensive days of the week.

They’re choosing to wed in the summer months too, which tends to be the most costly time of the year to book a venue.
Add to that, the average Irish wedding is also getting bigger, with 26% of those surveyed saying they’d invited 200 guests. Hmm.
