The Ingredient Breakdown Of Nutella Has Been Revealed And It Might Put You Off Eating It

A viral post has fans worried.

Nutella

There are few things in life more comforting and delicious than a jar of Nutella. Forget spreading it on toast, we’ll happily grab a spoon and just dig in.

We’re not alone of course. Nutella has a bit of a cult following, but now a viral post about what actually goes into your favourite jar of yumminess could threaten that.

The post, shared by Reddit User Mr Flow, shows the ingredient breakdown of the spread, and it’s a tad worrying.

Mostly fans are worried about the seemingly massive sugar content and the use of palm oil, which is thought to be carcinogenic.

Of course, few are under the illusion that Nutella is particularly healthy and as some commentors on the post have pointed out, you just have to check the ingredients list on the back of the jar to know what it’s made up of.

So what’s a Nutella-loving gal supposed to do?

Thankfully, it doesn’t mean you need to swear off your favourite spread completely. Like most things in life, it’s about moderation, a message Ferrero, the company who make the spread, have gotten behind since the scandal.

“One of Ferrero’s core nutritional beliefs is that small portion sizes help people to enjoy their favourite foods in moderation,” a rep told The Daily Mail.

So there you have it: Eat Nutella at will, but you know, maybe don’t demolish the whole jar.

Like we would anyway. *checks halo*
