Look, we know that McDonalds isn’t exactly the healthiest of food choices, but according to one McDonalds manager when it comes to choosing your fast food eats, some options on the menu are worse than others.

The anonymous McDonalds manager took to Reddit for an “ask me anything” Q & A and was quickly inundated with questions.

Chief among those questions was which foods we should absolutely steer clear of.

His advice? Just avoid any of the chicken items on the menu. Yes, that includes the nuggets. Sob.

Speaking of the grilled chicken they use in their burgers, the manager explained “it’s horrible frozen chicken that we defrost and steam and it’s a bit gelatinous.” Um, gross.

The chicken is then “is pre-cooked and breaded before arriving to us frozen from Thailand.”

As for those chicken nuggets that we’re so keen on ordering at around 2am on a Saturday morning, various workers in the thread described them as “pink foam”, bringing to mind this viral video from five years ago:


Thankfully though, if you’ve got a serious hankering for McDonalds there are a few items that you can order that won’t leave you feeling just as guilty.

The McDonald’s manager confirms that the rest of the meat “is good and is freshly grilled. It’s 100% local beef flank and doesn’t even use any binders like egg or rusk that you’d find even in the ‘good brands’ from the supermarket.”

Right, so we’ll be ordering a Big Mac instead of nuggets from now on then.
