We’ve all been there. “I’ll just have one slice of pizza,” you’ll say, but before you know it you’re six slices in and feeling hella guilty.

There goes all the clean eating, eh?

But if you don’t want to over indulge then there’s a sneaky hack that can stop a crazy calorie consumption in its tracks.

Speaking on a Quora thread, Brandon Nguyen, co-founder of health site ChillPill, shared this life-transforming tip: if you want to consume less calories, you simply need to eat with your non-dominant hand.

Soooo simple, right?

Basically, eating with your non-dominant hand slows the whole process of eating down and makes it more deliberate. In other words, it’ll take a bit more effort to horse down an entire Dominos by yourself.

Brandon explains that “it might be too much to do this for every meal,” but suggests trying it at dinner time to start “since that’s when we tend to eat the most. The reason for this is that it takes more time to eat, which gives your stomach a chance to signal your brain that you’re full,” he adds.

Sure it might sound a bit silly, but given that one study in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin found that eating with your non-dominant hand can reduce your calorie intake by 30 percent, we’re willing to give it a go.

Now, where did we leave that takeaway menu?
