We are all massive fans of The Crown…but even the best of us can’t handle the long, LONG, breaks they take in between seasons. And it’s not just us, as Emily in Paris star Lily Collins revealed she is a mega fan of the show…and that she once tried to get some info on the upcoming season from the cast…and also a job while she was at it.
Go on Lily!
The actress revealed, that while filming the 2018 adaption of Les Misérables, she couldn’t help but ask her co-star Olivia Colman, who had just been cast in the main role, a few questions about the show.
Saying, “Olivia was already cast as the Queen when we were filming. I was a huge fan of The Crown and I was grilling her, asking her questions, but she was sworn to utmost secrecy and couldn’t tell me anything.”
Failing to get the goss of Olivia, Lily decided to ask another co-star, Josh O’Connor, who was auditioning for the role of Prince Charles, at the time. “Josh was auditioning for Prince Charles during the making of our BBC show, and so I was asking him a bunch of questions.”
But her investigation didn’t stop there, as another one of her Les Mis co-stars, Erin Doherty also earned a role in The Crown as Princess Anne. But Lily actually didn’t ask for any spoilers this time around…instead she asked for a part in the show.
“Erin Doherty, who plays Anne, was in our show so it was like everyone from our show went on to do The Crown.”
“I was like, ‘Umm, I’m available!’ Everything about it is so good.”

But while Lily’s Les Mis co-stars couldn’t get her a spot in The Crown, one of her Emily in Paris co-stars just might. As Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Emily’s boss Sylvie, was just cast in the show! Wow, all of Lily’s co-workers really do end up on The Crown.
Philippine will be playing Monique Ritz, the widow of famed hotelier Charles Ritz. The French actress loved her part on the show, telling You Magazine, “it was a very small thing but it was a lot of fun. Every episode is like a little film on its own. It’s crazily well written.”
Philippine will be appearing alongside the updated cast which includes, Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville, Jonathan Pryce, Elizabeth Debicki, Dominic West and Jonny Lee Miller.
Here’s hoping she puts in a good word for Lily!
