Maya Jama Reveals ‘Different Format’ For Love Island Final

The Love Island final is mere days away – and things are going to be a little bit different this time around.

Well, that’s according to Maya Jama anyway, who has said that there’s going to be a bit of a “different format” to mix things up this year.

Maya told Deadline that she’s going to be back in the villa a few more times before the final.

We’ve already seen her host Not Another Podcast, leading to some serious tension in the villa, but will she be back for even more before Monday?

“I will be in the villa again before the final, maybe once, maybe twice. So that’s exciting,” she said.

“They don’t let me tell you, guys, anything. They did tell me that this final is going to be a bit different to the rest of them. They’re shaking up the format.

“I still don’t even know what that shakeup is, but I know there’s going to be a different format for the final. Live TV is my favorite. This is where I thrive because I can say silly things and go off script as much as possible without them being able to edit it out.”

Okay, okay, interesting Maya. We’ll be tuning in regardless.

The series host has also addressed claims that she’s barely been appearing on the show this year: “I’m always on standby for the whole two months, and then usually they’ll know about a week before, sometimes even like four days before if they want to send me in.

“So when I’m booking other jobs and things, it’s penciled in, but if I have to go in the villa last minute, we’re gonna have to move.”

Love Island UK is currently streaming on Hulu in the States, meaning that Maya has had a lot more in her schedule, in fairness.

“It’s been amazing. I get sent photos of those billboards, which is wild to be honest,” Jama said. “I’ve got some friends that live [in America], and they’re like, ‘Look! There’s your big head next to Kim Kardashian.’ So that’s crazy.”
