Laura Carmichael Secretly Welcomed A Baby With Co-Star And Partner Michael C Fox

In a story that sounds like it was actually taken from the show, Downton Abbey’s Laura Carmichael and her co-star and partner Michael C Fox secretly welcomed their first child together.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun, the couple welcomed a baby boy, who they named Luca back in March 2021.

The pair are settling into parenthood well as the source explained, “Laura and Michael absolutely love being parents and were grateful to have some time away from the limelight to enjoy the moment.”

“Laura’s taken motherhood in her stride and it’s added another string to her bow.”

The pair began seeing each other in 2016 after meeting on set.

In the hit period drama Laura played elegant Lady Edith since the first series. While Michael joined the cast in series five, and played footman Andy, who works in her home.

Speaking about her experience working on Downton Abbey and falling for Michael while working on the show, Laura told Town and Country, “I’ve fallen in love and made wonderful friends – how lucky am I?”

While the show has ended, a series of spin-off films are being made. The first one, which shared the same name as the show, was released in 2019. It was a massive success and the sequel Downton Abbey: A New Era was released on Friday.
