Here’s What Kim Kardashian Had To Say About The Balenciaga ‘Child Abuse’ Controversy
"As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images"
Kim Kardashian has spoken out about the controversy currently surrounding the fashion label Balenciaga.
The backlash comes as the fashion house shared images from its holiday campaign. The images showed young children holding teddy bears, which were dressed in ‘S&M style’ bondage clothing.
The campaign caused major upset with the public, many deeming it entirely inappropriate and ‘abusive’ to children.
Balenciaga is very much cancelled in my eyes, I don’t care what explanation they come up with. don’t mess with children

I burnt all of my Balenciaga T-shirts tonight in protest to the brand actively promoting Child Abuse.

Many celebrities have spoken out in protest of the brand, but the public have been waiting to hear the thoughts of one particular woman, who is associated closely with the brand through her love of and working relationship with them.
Kim Kardashian addressed the situation this week, taking to Twitter she said:
“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened” her thread begins.

“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.”
Continuing on, Kim says that she appreciates the brand’s removal of the campaign, and the apology they have since issued.
As for whether or not Kim sees herself working with the fashion house in the future, she says:
“I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with — and the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
As of today, Balenciaga’s Instagram account has been wiped. Currently, all that remains on it is their apology and various other activist infographics.
