Louise Thompson Reflects On What She Has Learned This Past Year As She Turns 33
"...I’d rather none of this happened to me and to have lived less of a colourful life, but it is HARD to forget."
Louise Thompson has had a very tough few years, but she is taking a lesson from even her hardest times.
The former Made In Chelsea star is sharing her life lessons as she marks her 33rd birthday with a lengthy Instagram post.
Sharing pictures of herself with her son and in a fab black coat, Louise told followers that although she isn’t one to enjoy her birthday usually, she wanted to share some knowledge.
The emotional post touches on a lot of point, some referencing her trauma over the past few years and what she has gained and learned from it.
She writes, “When you’ve been through something incredibly traumatic, it is VERY hard to let go of it. It’s not like you WANT to keep living in the past. It’s not like you want constant sympathy. Trust me I’d rather none of this happened to me and to have lived less of a colourful life, but it is HARD to forget.”

Continuing she said, “It gets better. It always gets better. No matter how hard it feels in the moment. No matter how deep the new lows go, it always gets better. Never give up. Unfortunately, life isn’t a straight path, everyone will deal with some horrendous things at some point in their lifetime, but you will overcome these challenges. Unless you die. Some people even die of grief or a broken heart. I sadly know some of them. Try not to die, because the people around you will be really upset then. It becomes a ripple of sadness. Try to limit the ripple.
“Post-traumatic growth is a thing. I’ve learnt some important lessons and one day I KNOW I will be grateful for all of this nonsense. Trauma can sometimes send you on a path you would have otherwise never known. I’ve learnt some hard truths but some necessary truths, and my path feels v different now.”

After giving birth to her son Leo, Louise experienced a number of health issues. In a post last summer she detailed some of what she has gone through, highlighting that although she is not “better” she has come a long way from where she was, and hopes that her story can help someone else to come through their dark time as well.
Earlier this year Louise was back in the hospital after she “haemorrhaged at home”.
Thankfully Louise seems to be doing okay now and finding a positive light despite her hardships.
