We need this.

Ah, The Den!

It truly was the pinnacle of Irish telly. And we won’t hear anything else on the matter!

The Den kicked off back in 1986 with Ian Dempsey at the helm but grew bigger and bigger with each year and each decade.

However, in 2010 it was announced that The Den would be airing its last episode.

To boost the morale of the nation, The Den came back for six weeks during 2020.

Despite the grá for the revival there hasn’t been any sign of a second season of the show despite it being almost four years later!

Zig and Zag, the iconic puppets who got their start on The Den, took to social media to urge for another revival of the classic children’s programme.

“We’ve read the reports, seen the news, but I think RTE forgot that bit about bringing back The Den!” they wrote alongside a picture of the 2020 revival.

“Who’s going to save Christmas? And have they forgotten it’s only 14 days until ‘International Francis Brennan Day’? Who’s going to celebrate that with the nation? #BringBackTheDen.”

Honestly, they really could save Christmas!

Ray D’Arcy, who was Zig and Zag’s partner in crime, previously confessed that he was “perplexed” over the decision not to bring back The Den.

“I don’t understand why it didn’t come back. I’m still perplexed,” he said during his radio show last year.

Fingers crossed for a revival lads!
