Because, of course.

Pretty much every single look at the Golden Globes this year was a slay.
One in particular stood out among the rest though – the gorgeous Gillian Anderson in a striking ivory ballgown.
Gillian’s hair was blown out and back, her makeup soft and subtle, and her voluminous skirt stole the red carpet’s attention.
A closer inspection of the glamorous, feminine dress revealed it was covered in white embroidery.

What was the embroidery depicting? Pictures of vaginas! (Vulvas, to be technical).
The piece, designed by Gabriela Hearst, was both a fashion statement and a statement of, well…what exactly, we didn’t know. But we liked it!
Now, we’ve got at least one reason behind the anatomy inspired look.
When asked by Deadline at the awards ceremony why she’d gone for such an interesting piece, Gillian quipped cheekily, “Oh, for so many reasons!
She came, she served and now I can sleep. Thank you for your service Gillian Anderson. pic.twitter.com/NaE3zv3Ev3

“For so many reasons. It’s brand appropriate.”
The 55 year old Sex Education star is referencing her drinks brand, G Spot.
G Spot makes healthy, wellness focused soft drinks that are designed to replace your high caffeine, energy drink fix.
Their website describes the flavoured beverages as being “the sweet spot between taste and functionality.” Sensual!

In an interview with British Vogue, Gillian spoke about her dress with more earnest.
“With the mantra of my brand G-Spot being to ‘prioritize pleasure,’ I wanted to bring this element into the design…I’m so pleased Gabriela was up for the challenge!”
Apparently the dress took 3.5 hours to be hand embroidered!
Iconic, to be honest.
