Alex Consani Is The Model Of The Moment

You’ve probably come across Miss Alex Consani on TikTok at some point, either from one of her hilarious videos or the iconic interviews she conducts for brands at fashion events.

The TikToker-turned-high fashion model made her debut on the Victoria’s Secret runway this week, following an incredible rise to stardom over the past year.

But who exactly is Alex, and how has she become such a prominent model so quickly?

Alex grew up in a modest home in Marin County, California, and you’ll be pleased to know she’s not a nepo baby! She made history in 2016 as the youngest transgender model to be signed by a modelling agency at just 13 years old.

Consani signed with the infamous modelling agency IMG Models at just 16 before moving to New York City at age 18 to further pursue her modelling career. Over the past few years, Alex has garnered a huge following on social media, thanks to her comedic TikTok videos, which have undoubtedly played a key role in boosting her modelling career.

Her success even led to her being hired to conduct interviews at the Oscars due to her goofy, off-the-cuff humour. Kate Moss might be known as a rock star trapped in a supermodel’s body, but Alex is a comedian trapped in a supermodel’s body.

Vogue hailed Alex as the master of Gen Z humour on TikTok, and it’s clear that Gen Z is captivated by her, with Alex regularly attracting at least 10 million views per video.

Her popularity even made her a key figure in our Brat summers, featuring in Charli xcx’s 360 music video ahed of the release of the Brat album.

If you’re not obsessed yet, just wait until you see Alex slay the Victoria’s Secret runway, dazzling in a stunning sequinned two-piece with quilted wings. While Alex isn’t the first transgender model to grace the VS runway, she is certainly part of the brand’s transformation towards becoming more inclusive and welcoming.

Let’s not forget that only six years ago, the organiser of the Victoria’s Secret show, Ed Razek, stated that he “didn’t believe transsexuals should be on the runway” and that the show was “designed to be a fantasy.”

Consani is well on her way to achieving supermodel status. At just 21 years old, she has been nominated in the Model of the Year category at the CFDA Awards, which will take place on 28th October this year.

This is her first nomination, yet there’s already online speculation that she’s the predicted winner. If Alex wins, she would become the first transgender model to ever claim the title. However, even if she doesn’t, Alex will still make history as the first transgender model to be nominated for the award – an extraordinary achievement in itself.

Alex has yet to grace a Vogue cover—in fact, she hasn’t been on many covers at all. This is hardly surprising, given how busy she’s been dominating the runways of every major fashion house – booked and busy of course.

Just this week, however, Alex landed her first cover with Interview Magazine titled Interview’s Next Top Model, where she opened up about all things modelling and how exciting her life has been over the past year.

We don’t know about you, but we’re excited to see a fresh face in the modelling scene – one that’s making history, and not a nepo baby this time.
