Blonzing: The Latest Beauty Trend Taking Over TikTok—But What Is It?
RIP... bronzer...?
Blonzing is the latest beauty craze sweeping TikTok, but what exactly does it mean? The trend involves using a brownish-copper blush across the face, sort of combining your bronzer and blush into the one step. This seems like a major shift from makeup trends lately, like the baby-pink blush look that was partly popularised by Sabrina Carpenter’s signature bold pink blush look. The pink blush mightn’t be for everyone evidently.
This trend focuses on using cream or liquid blush to create a dewy, radiant look that mimics a natural glow, as if it’s coming from within. With just a swipe across the cheeks and temples, you can easily achieve a sun-kissed finish.
This is a notable departure from the powdered pink blush that dominated over the past year. Hailey Bieber’s Rhode products, particularly her Toasted Teddy blush, have been at the forefront of this trend. Her pocket-sized cream blushes are perfect for creating the ‘Blonzed’ makeup look.
Hailey is known for applying blush across her entire face—forehead, cheeks, eyes, and nose—to give that “I’ve been in the sun all day” vibe, rather than the “I’m blushing 24/7” look that’s been trending on TikTok lately.
@beautybybandaBlushes you DON’T need to bronze with.. BLONZERS!!
Could this become a staple in everyone’s makeup routine? Well…we don’t think it’ll put bronzer out of business anytime soon. Let’s be realistic. But it’s certainly a more streamlined routine for someone who’s not bothered carrying around a load of compacts in their makeup bag, combining bronzer and blush into the one product. Your makeup bag will thank you for the lighter load!
It’s far from the days of that 2016 makeup era when you’d smear your face in a ten step cheek routine. Foundation, powder, contour, bronzer, blush and then highlight…. Oh and then setting spray of course. Thank god we have exited those days where the average makeup routine took an illogical 1-2 hours. Makeup seems to be heading in the direction of practicality and being realistic with your time.
If you’re looking to recreate the look, fear not—we’ve got you covered! Here are some products that will give you that bronzed glow without breaking the bank. And if you can’t get your hands on Rhode’s Toasted Teddy, we’ve found some great dupes for you.
