Everything Team STELLAR Is Loving This Week

Few bits, sure

It’s happened – the grey weather is here, and we’re all a bit miserable.

Just kidding, we’re getting on with things. We’re also enjoying a selection of things this week, despite it all.

This is them.

… Delicious cocktails – canned

@stellarmagazine 2000s icon – and a few tasty drinks too ✨ #elliegoulding #served #invite ♬ Burn – Ellie Goulding

I am a cocktail girlie. I love sipping on a delicious mixed drink and more often than not, spending upwards of €14 on it.

Canned cocktails are generally not all that good. Pop a few in the fridge and they’re fine – a bit too sugary, sometimes false-tasting.

Served Cocktails are not like this. They’re a premium canned cocktail and actually taste like you’re drinking a newly mixed drink straight from the bar. Seriously.

Made with wonky fruit (that’s fruit that can’t be sold in shops and usually goes to waste) and premium spirits, these cans are not your classic at-home pour. They’re so tasty, and definitely too easy to drink.

Flavours include passionfruit martini, mojito, strawberry daiquiri, piña colada, and the new peach spritz. And if you’re a pineapple girl, the piña colada is a must try.

The brand is also co-founded by Ellie Goulding, who played a surprised intimate gig in Dublin’s Cafe en Seine earlier this week. Incredible!

… Makeup remover, but make it luxe

Good ol’ micellar water has us all in a chokehold when it comes to removing makeup, but if you’re up for trying something a little different, Korean skincare brand Genosys have a luxe alternative.

Genosys Skin Defender Lip & Eye Makeup Remover has been my go-to makeup remover for the past few weeks, and it’s been lovely to use.

The bi-phase formula removes stubborn waterproof makeup without irritation, while the skin defender peptide complex helps improve firmness and reduce puffiness.

It’s a product that’s particularly good for mascara. Just hold it over your eye for a few seconds before wiping away makeup easily and fluidly.

I’ve been using Genosys all over my face, and honestly I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to do that. For the cost per bottle (€47), you’d want more than your eyes and lips to feel the benefit.

… Matcha matcha matcha

It was never just a phase for me. I’ve been a matcha fan for a long time.

Like, back when cafes used to served it gloopy to you long. Like, before matcha bars and TikTok recipes long.

Caffé Nero do a pretty good matcha. Their flavours are always en point, and are generally my go-to drink when I’m working from town and in need of a delicious drink.

The chain recently just launched their new Blueberry Muffin Iced Oat Matcha, and lads, the flavours are unreal.

Blending ceremonial-grade matcha, oat milk, and sweet blueberry muffin flavours, the drink is the ideal end of summer vibe.

And it does actually taste like a muffin too. Gorge.

… The big fight

Katie Taylor’s historic home farewell fight in Croke Park is just around the corner – have you got your fit ready?

Well, we’ll be wearing the In Katie’s Corner shorts from Lidl obviously.

They’re on sale on Lidl.ie from 10am Friday 28th August, with all proceeds going to Lidl’s charity partner, Family Carers Ireland.

Priced at €25, the exclusive merch features Lidl’s brand colours with the the slogan ‘In Katie’s Corner’ emblazoned on the belt, allowing fans to show their support for one of Ireland’s greatest athletes as she steps into the ring for the final time in a historic moment for female sport.

Bring it on.
