#Womeninmalefields has officially infiltrated TikTok.

It’s a bit of a crowd-pleaser as young women reveal their often-toxic experiences with men, all with Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ playing in the background – pretty iconic if you ask us.

The humorous new trend allows women to turn the tables on men and reenact something hurtful or manipulative that a boyfriend, situationship or husband has done or said to them.

Here’s a few examples: “Me after pulling the ‘I’m not looking for a relationship but down to chill’ card after acting like we’re dating for two months”.

Or, “When he sends multiple texts in a row explaining what’s wrong but I only reply to the last and least important one”.

And an especially popular one: “He was crying in bed so I said ‘here we go again’ and turned around and fell asleep”.

You get the gist?

This new trend has exploded on TikTok recently with women uniting over their shared experiences with men. The serious theme of male toxic behaviour is being called out in a lighthearted and fun way.

If you don’t laugh you’ll cry, right?

Nevertheless, some believe that the trend intended to be funny and relatable for women, is toxic. One user said, “Is it just me or is the #womeninmalefieled trend just bullying masquerading as banter? Intentionally hurting and upsetting another person to punish an entire gender”.

@tabbytellsthetruth I may be late to the party but i personally find this new womeninmalefields trend really toxic!! Do you agree? #womeninmalefields #toxic #bullying #trendingvideo ♬ Anaconda – Nicki Minaj

Some commenters who agreed with this user’s videos accused women of just making up the posts for likes and views… but is this not the case for every trend?

But just like girl math converted to boy math, #womeninmalefields has too transformed into #meninfemalefields with men hitting back with their own version of the trend (albeit not quite as successfully).

There are some videos of men saying, “She asked me what is wrong, so I said ‘nothing'” and “Just asked her to tell me about her ex and then got mad when she actually told me”.

Yeah, not quite the same thing, guys.
