So, Love Island Winners Samie & Ciaran Are Actually Over

In a twist of events that has surprised almost everybody — and that most people didn’t expect to happen for at least a few months — Love Island winners Samie and Ciaran have split.

A mere three weeks after winning the show. Yes, actually.

The pair travelled home from the South African villa in February after being crowned the winners of Love Island All Stars.

But as it turns out, there was trouble in paradise after all.

With Samie living in London and Ciaran based in Wales, viewers were curious as to how the couple would make things work.

After leaving the villa, Ciaran told WalesOnline: “Before the show I was in London often and when we do come to see each other after spending time apart it’ll keep our excitement.

“I think as of right now it’s the best thing because in the real world, as a relationship, we probably still wouldn’t be seeing each other as much as we did in the villa but I’m feeling very, very positive with how it’s gonna go.”

Things, however, have not been going well.

Last week, the Sun reported that things had “fizzled out” between the pair, and that they weren’t over interested in pursuing things romantically.

“Lots of couples survive busy diaries, it just needs both parties to communicate and stay connected that way, which is something that was lacking. She just wasn’t hearing from him,” a source said.

What’s more is that Ciaran even confirmed the split in a livestream on Snapchat, while playing padel with Scott Van Der Sluis.

In the video, Scott says “we’ve swapped partners for padel… not relationships,” before Ciaran says: “There is only one relationship.”

And seeing as Scott and Leanne are still together, there’s only one couple he could be talking about.

Still though, neither Ciaran nor Samie have released an official statement regarding the breakup so maybe there is still hope for these Love Island winners.

After all, Samie visited Barry Island in Wales with Ciaran, and he’s been spending a good bit of time in London since the show wrapped, so you never know.

The pair have also been fairly active on social together despite apparently not being romantically involved.

Maybe it was a friendship couple after all.
