Alright, What’s Going On With JoJo Siwa & Chris Hughes?

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes left the Celebrity Big Brother house last week.

Neither of them won the show (that was Jack P Shepherd, actually), but they did win maybe something even more special – a gorgeous friendship.

During their time in the house the pair spent a lot of time together. So much so, that viewers became convinced that they were flirting, and that their relationship had moved beyond the platonic.

Rumours only escalated when JoJo attended the CBB wrap party with now ex-partner Kath Ebbs. Kath posted to TikTok the following day and said that JoJo dumped them at the party.

So, what’s been going on? Why did the pair split? And what have JoJo and Chris been saying about it all?

The pair have since appeared on This Morning and tried to clear up a few things. JoJo confirmed that she and Kath did break up at the wrap party, and that she had had a lot of time to think while in the Big Brother house.

“Initially, I was told that the wrap party was something they didn’t want to attend,” she said. “And then about an hour into the wrap party, they decided they wanted to, and so I was genuinely just going to have a conversation before.

“They straight up asked me if I was happy, and I said no. And, you know, one thing led to another, and that conversation did take place there.”

JoJo went on to say that she was having second thoughts early on in the house: “Honestly when I went into the house [it was like] day one fun, day two fun… but then day three I was now in my own thoughts, away from outside opinions, away from everything.

“I sat with myself and I really realised things that I was OK with – I should not have been OK with. There were countless things that I was like, that’s not something that I should be OK with and I don’t need to be OK with and I’m not happy.

“I think I realised just how not great things were that I was pretending they were great.. And it’s been hard, but it’s been good. I’m very I’m very happy with where I am now. I’m very grateful.”

Love Island star Chris added that their relationship is special, but platonic: “It’s just a really strong friendship, you can have a soulmate friendship, that’s a thing.

“It’s not the standard friendship you have with your friends but it’s still a friendship. Having someone in there to go through an experience like that with was beautiful.”

When asked if there was potential for the relationship to turn romantic, JoJo said: “Whatever life does, life will do.” Interesting.

Previously, Chris had said that the pair were simply having fun in the house, and that he does love JoJo as a friend.

“We’re just messing around—we’re being kids,” he said. “JoJo was like a pure rock to me. She was someone I can have fun with.

“From a friendship point of view, yeah, of course I love her. Why would I not want to get on with people when I’m in a house?”

“If I want to spend time with a person who makes me feel like I’m at home, makes me feel happy and forget that we’re filming a TV show, we’re having fun, I’ll do that—because that’s very normal. It was just a friendship, which is only going to get stronger.”

JoJo and Chris were seen slow dancing at the CBB wrap party, and have since been spotted spending the day together at a tennis club.

In the house, JoJo told drag queen Danny that she had always identified as a lesbian, but has now figured out that she is queer.
