Ever since Prime Video’s hockey romance series Off Campus landed, fans have been paying very close attention to the cast. Obviously, the show itself already has all the ingredients for internet chaos: fake dating, college romance, attractive people looking at each other intensely and a fanbase that has absolutely no intention of being normal about it.

But now, the drama has moved off-screen too.

Fans have speculated for weeks that Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston, who play Allie Hayes and Justin Kohl in the series, have become more than just co-stars. Despite the rumours, neither star has officially commented on their relationship status.

But that has not stopped fans from going back and dissecting every interview, press clip and any evidence they can gather as if it was the trial of the century.

The relationship rumours first started during the Off Campus press tour, when viewers noticed Mika and Josh were often paired together despite their characters barely interacting in the show. Videos of the pair laughing together and sitting close during interviews quickly started doing the rounds online, with fans pointing to their natural chemistry as evidence that something more could be going on.

At first, it seemed like classic fandom behaviour. Two attractive co-stars have nice chemistry, the edits begin, and suddenly everyone is convinced there is a real-life love story happening behind the scenes.

And speculation only continued to intensify after Mika’s recent public split from Jake Short. The pair first met on the set of Sex Appeal in 2021 and later got engaged in 2025. But earlier this month a representative for Mika confirmed they had gone their separate ways, saying they “continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms” while asking for privacy and respect.

Since then, fans have become even more invested in Mika’s personal life, which is probably where things start to get slightly messy.

The rumour was reignited after Australian radio show 2DayFM Breakfast with Nath & Emma claimed to have heard from sources that Mika and Josh were dating. Host Emma Chow said: “There have been rumours swirling for a couple of weeks now that two Off Campus stars are dating in real life.”

She added: “We have our own sources that say that it is true.”

The show’s producer then claimed a friend working for a high-end luxury brand had heard the rumours through someone close to Josh. Again, none of this has been confirmed by Mika or Josh themselves, so it is worth taking with a very large pinch of salt.

Adding more fuel to the fire, an alleged video from Paris has been circulating online, with fans claiming it shows Mika and Josh holding hands while out together. But as with most things on TikTok, the clip has led to more questions than answers.

It also comes at a time when the Off Campus fandom has already been warned about crossing boundaries. Producers recently issued a statement asking fans to respect the cast and the people in their lives, adding that accounts engaging in “targeted harassment” would be removed from following the show’s official accounts.

And that is probably the part worth remembering here. It is one thing to enjoy the chemistry between two actors, especially when a show has built its entire brand around romance. It is another thing entirely to treat real people’s private lives like bonus episodes.

For now, Mika is busy filming season two of Off Campus, which will focus on Allie and Dean, played by Stephen Kalyn. Josh, meanwhile, is reportedly not returning for the new season due to scheduling conflicts.

So are Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston actually dating? Maybe. Maybe not.

Until either of them says something, all fans really have are clips, theories and a lot of wishful thinking.
