Winning! Kate Middleton’s New Earrings Are A €10 High Street Buy
Oh, but she swapped them for a €3,100 pair later on, as you do.
When Kate Middleton gives a designer her stamp of approval, it’s an instant track to sell-out success.
So the buying team at Accessorize must have been feeling pretty chuffed this weekend, after the Duchess was photographed wearing a pair of gold filigree earrings from the high street label’s current collection.
Kate wore the drop earrings – which retail at just €9.90, btw – for a tour of Mumbai’s slums on Saturday, as part of her week-long tour of India and Bhutan with Prince William.
The earrings sold out almost instantly online, but you can keep an eye on stock levels on the Accessorize website if you’re hoping to get your hands on a pair, like this lucky Twitter user:
While Kate is regularly spotted in budget-friendly pieces, she’s definitely a high-fashion girl at heart, and couldn’t resist swapping her Accessorize buy for a pair of cobalt blue Amrapali earrings later that evening.
In case you were wondering, they retail at a cool €3,100, thanks to the tiny diamonds they’re encrusted in. Kate donned her über-fancy drop earrings for a gala at the Taj Mahal hotel, teaming them with a beaded sheer dress in a matching shade of blue.
Okay, our budget doesn’t quite stretch to €3,100 earrings, but a girl can dream, right?
