“I really like Vintage Cocktail Club in Dublin. There’s something so intimate about a candlelit room. The cosy chairs are close together and the bar has a great selection of drinks to choose from – they do a great Old Fashioned!”

“I love the Porthouse. It offers a romantic underground vibe and it’s fully lit by candles, which really sets the mood. The atmosphere is casual and it’s always busy, so you can actually chat away to your partner without worrying about ear wiggers!

“As a child I spent summers traveling around Connemara and West Cork. These are still my favourite places in Ireland. Living in London I’m desperate to bring my English boyfriend back to show him around the pubs of Skibbereen and Ballydehob and to go walking around Connemara. I think the scenery is breathtaking.”

“We booked a cabin in Waterford a few years back that was kitted out with every ‘outdoorsy’ thing you can think of from canoes and fishing rods to kites.Wandering the rural landscape together was an amazing way to get away from everything, and spend quality time with one another.”

“Aghadoe Heights in Kerry is breathtaking. Their spa facilities are first class, however my other half is more of an adventurer who enjoyed the local surf, tracks and trails. I did drag him to Dingle though, I couldn’t miss out on Murphy’s brown bread!”
Single girls’ night out

“When I come home for a weekend and I just want a quite catch up with my friends and have local drinks, we head to Tramyard and The Queens in Dalkey. Tramyard have a great selection of craft beers. If it’s a big night out, we usually start in Market Bar for some drinks and tapas and then head to Xico on Baggot Street. The cocktails are great and it just turns it to a madhouse, but I always have a great night there.”

“Xico in Dublin is such a great spot for a girls’ night out… The music is just what you want when you want to have a dance with your ladies, and they even let you dance on the tables (Coyote Ugly, anyone?!)”

“I’m thinking of getting my whole squad together from London and Ireland for a huge birthday celebration in May. Our plans for the VIP Style Awards weekend are to start at The Dean’s rooftop bar (always great for an espresso martini), followed by candy and cocktails at 37 Dawson Street and of course Lillie’s afterwards to dance the night away. No doubt we’ll end up munching Supermacs to end it all…”
