‘A Good Move’: Here’s The Real Reason Jay-Z Was A No Show At The Met Gala

Beyoncé wowed at Sunday night’s Met Gala in nude latex Givenchy, but one accessory was notably missing – her husband Jay-Z.

Jay’s been a fixture by Beyoncé’s side at the Gala for years, most notably in 2014 when he had an angry altercation with her sister Solange in an elevator on site.

But despite putting on a united front with his wife following the release of her tell-all album Lemonade last month, the rapper was nowhere to be seen on Sunday.

Many fans wondered if Jay had refused to attend the event after revelations of his rumoured infidelity came to light, but sources say the real reason was a little different.

“They [Beyoncé and Jay-Z] aren’t fighting ,” a source told E! News, adding that the decision for Beyoncé to attend alone was a joint one.

“They thought it was a good move that Beyoncé go alone this year… They thought it would be a better look if she came solo for her new album and all the hype that was attached to it.”

As well as hitting the red carpet solo, Beyoncé also stuck around for the Balmain after party, which she attended as Olivier Rousteing’s guest with Solange, her bodyguard, her stylist, Solange’s husband Alan Ferguson, and her former choreographer Jonté Moaning.
