‘Such An Emotional Show For Me’: Why Was Rihanna In Tears At Her Dublin Gig Last Night?
She broke down numerous times during the concert.
Rihanna took to the stage at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium last night, for the long awaited Irish leg of her Anti World Tour.
But despite banging out a set full of hits, the singer struggled to remain composed throughout the evening, breaking down in tears on various occasions. Having cancelled two shows in Cardiff and Sunderland earlier this week, the singer arrived on stage in Dublin 30 minutes later than scheduled and didn’t seem like her usual energetic self.
In fact, she had more than one shaky moment during the show, even stopping during one number to cry.

According to audience members, she “barely” made it into the opening verse of Love The Way You Lie before she dissolved into tears. “She couldn’t go on singing,” one concert-goer said.
Rihanna addressed her visible state of upset on Instagram, posting a video of herself getting noticeably overwhelmed as the crowd sang the lyrics of FourFiveSeconds back to her.
“What a night!!!! Such an emotional show for me!” she wrote.
“I feel so lucky to have a team like the #Navy man! I’m blessed!! No matter what I’m on you always snatch me out of it! I’m so grateful to have y’all!”
Despite her tears, Rihanna was all smiles as she met MMA fighter Conor McGregor backstage at the Aviva, even posting a picture of the pair to her Instagram page last night:
Conor only had good things to say about RiRi on his own social media feeds, saying it was an “honour” to see her perform.
Fingers crossed she’ll be back on track for her London gig this Friday, June 24.
