The Hack For Undone But Super-Sleek Hair That’ll Transform Your Beauty Routine
Old-school bouffant waves and (gulp) Eighties perms were all over the catwalks this season, but if you’re not quite ready to go full Farrah Fawcett, panic not. Instead, take a hint from the stylists at Céline and Temperley London and give the DIY-friendly tousled tie-back a try.
This look is bursting with Scandi-cool, and simple enough that you can knock it together while waiting for your morning coffee to brew. A rush-hour win.
Here at STELLAR Towers, we can’t resist a low-maintenance ‘do, and the fashion shoot for our November issue – on shelves now, btw – was all about lazy luxe locks. Hair guru Michelle O’Halloran swept our model Iga’s hair back into a low knot for an easy bedhead style that’s perfect for tucking away under a hat and scarf.
So how did Michelle create the look? Scroll down to check out the unbelievable simple three-step process…
Prep
“Iga’s hair is soft and silky, so I gave it a spritz or two of VO5 Plump it Up Dry Backcombing Spray (€5.49) to make it more matte and malleable,” Michelle explains. “I then backcombed her hair from the root to the tip to the root to add volume.”
For extra texture, Michelle used Osis Session Label Salt Spray (€14.50), followed by a natural oil spray to keep the hair flexible and stop it from looking too “done.”
Tie it up
Michelle swept away the ends of the hair and tied it into a half loop with a hair tie. Could this be any easier?!
Finish
“To give Iga’s hair a more polished look, I contrasted the texture of the front with the back,” Michelle tells us. Combing the hair into a tight middle parting, she smoothed away any flyaways with L’Oreal Professionel Tecni Art Play Ball Density Material (€13.95, available in salons only). Aaaaand, done! Go forth and conquer.
