There’s A Very Significant Reason Beyoncé Chose Yesterday To Announce Her Pregnancy

The internet collectively lost its shit last night when, around about 6.30pm, Beyoncé dropped a major announcement.

Taking to Instagram, the global star announced her second pregnancy by sharing a picture of herself kneeling in front of a floral backdrop, and caressing her rounded baby bump.

Even more exciting, the singer revealed that she and hubby Jay-Z are expecting twins.

We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters,” reads the post, which, to date, has accumulated nearly seven and a half million likes, breaking the record for most likes on a pic since the social media site began.

When it comes to big celebrity announcements there’s often weeks or even months of planning that goes into how they’ll break the news, and as it turns out there may be a very significant reason that Beyoncé and her PR people chose to reveal her pregnancy on February 1st.

Legions of fans reckon it’s because yesterday marked the start of Black History Month.

Beyonce is a staunch black rights activist and much of her new material touches on the need for radical social change so it makes sense that she’d break news on this important day.

Back in 2011 she chose to announce her first pregnancy in an equally internet-breaking moment, during a performance at the VMAs.
