Demi Lovato Changed Her Hair And Now She’s Copping Major Criticism For Cultural Appropriation
People are unhappy that she's making a cultural hairstyle into a trend.
Demi Lovato released the video to her new song No Promises and fans aren’t happy about her chosen hairstyle.
In the video, the singer’s hair is twisted to resemble dreadlocks, and people on Twitter are suggesting that she’s guilty of cultural appropriation.

Traditionally, dreadlocks were worn by people of Jamaican heritage and the hairstyle has strong cultural ties to that ethnicity. Because Demi is white, fans are annoyed that she decided to make this historical style a trend.

Demi is way too smart to be culturally appropriating dreads, like c'mon girl.

What do you make of Demi’s hair? Should she have stuck to her natural style?
