What’s The Tea With The Leaked Labs Flexi Powder?
Would you use?
A new innovative makeup product has dropped and it’s sparking major debate – introducing Leaked Labs’ Amplify Flexi Powder, a product that’s been causing quite a stir online.
TikTok creators The Lipstick Lesbians decided to create a brand which allows consumers to try makeup products that are currently being created in labs.
Their new brand, Leaked Labs, takes experimental formulas from manufacturers and releases them to the public in limited leaks.

This month Leaked Labs launched their first release: a new innovative product, Leak001 Amplify Flexi Powder. The product claims to be a sustainable, flexible, pan-less and a water-reactive powder.
It is basically a flexible pigmented powder disc, the first of its kind in the makeup industry, engineered and inspired by pasta-making techniques using the layering, pressing and drying method.

The product is marketed at $34 and all four powder discs come in the one tin – different metallic shades of gold, silver, bronze and pink. It’s marketed as being extremely versatile and can be used in multiple steps of your routine – from eyes to cheeks to lips.
The product sold out in four days with so many MUAs and creators being so intrigued by this new product inspired by lasagna. But the reviews have been… mixed, to say the least.

One of the first problems people have with this product is the design, as the powders are stacked on top of each other and in the one tin. Critics are questioning how the products can be hygienic and practical, even though the brand is claiming the product is ideal for makeup artists.
Leaked Labs have addressed this issue of cross-contamination with their cosmetic chemist Julio, who says that the product is built with a preservative system and is absolutely safe for the face.

But reviewers remain sceptical. One beauty creator left the product out of its tin for three days and sprayed alcohol on it. The product had then reportedly deteriorated over that time, leaving it unusable.

Others are questioning if the product resembles makeup brand’s samples, why it costs so much to buy.
Another product design issue seems to be the durability of the disc. It claims to be flexible and non-shatter, but some reviewers are sharing that their powder does break and crack easily.

Despite these complaints, many creators have praised the Amplify Flexi Powder’s ingenuity and innovative design. A 4-in-1 product in the one package is very environmentally friendly – undeniably a step in the right direction for the beauty industry.
Additionally, the product is not marketed as a disability friendly product, but reviewers have said its design is accessible for people who may struggle with packaging and application.

At the end of the day, the whole philosophy of Leaked Labs is to put a product on the market to be tested and receive as much feedback as possible… which they certainly have this time.
