People Are Disgusted By This New ‘Body-Shaming’ Snow White Movie

People reckon it's disrespectful to women with fuller figures.

Red Shoes And The 7 Dwarfs is a parody movie of Disney’s 1937 Snow White film, and the message it’s sending out about body image is questionable.

The animation, which is due for release in 2018, is being promoted by a poster showing a fuller-figured, curvy Snow White next to the caption, ‘What if Snow White was no longer beautiful?’ Not only does this imply that curvy women are ugly, the trailer for the movie makes things far, far worse.

In the trailer, which you can watch below, two of the dwarfs creepily spy on Snow White as she undresses in her bedroom. It begins by showing her as a thin and slender character, but as she removes her dress and shoes, her true body shape is revealed.

The dwarfs go from visibly excited (by the possibility of nudity) to positively horrified by Snow White’s true body, giving the impression that fuller figures aren’t attractive.

According to the poster which was first spotted in Cannes, the film stars 20-year-old Chloe Grace Moretz, and people have been criticising her and the producers for making a film so insensitive to women’s body image.

Plus-sized model, Tess Holliday, shared a photo of the film poster on Twitter saying, “How did this get approved by an entire marketing team? Why is it okay to tell young kids being fat = ugly? ? ?  @ChloeGMoretz”.
