Beyonce Is Being Mummy-Shamed For The *Most* Ridiculous Reason

Beyonce gave birth to twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, last month and last night she let her hair down for date night with her husband.

The 35-year-old mum-of-three shared two photos on Instagram in which she and Jay Z are sipping a glass of red wine, and fans have quickly jumped to criticise her for it.

“You can’t drink wine when you’re breastfeeding. What are you thinking?” one person questioned, despite not knowing whether or not Beyonce is breastfeeding the twins at all.

Another person said, “If she is nursing the babies, wine ain’t good,” while a third person wrote, “‘You feed your children with your breast, so why do you drink?!”

According to the Health Service Executive, small amounts of alcohol can be passed from a mother to her baby through breastmilk, but that doesn’t mean new mums can’t enjoy a drink.

The HSE recommend that breastfeeding women don’t exceed 11 units of alcohol per week, and that they express the milk prior to drinking. However, if Beyonce is bottle-feeding the twins, it doesn’t matter in the slightest.
