“Is He Okay?” New Interview With Jim Carrey Sparks Concern For His Mental Health

"I'm worried about him..."

Jim Carrey made a rare public appearance at New York Fashion Week and the interview he did with E! News has sparked concern among fans. The actor appeared on the red carpet for a Harper’s Bazaar party, but when reporter Catt Sadler swooped in to ask him some questions he began to behave quite oddly.

He started by circling around her while staring at her intently, then stopped to say, “There’s no meaning to any of this. So I wanted to find the most meaningless thing that I could come to and join and here I am.”

He continued to tell the interviewer, “I don’t believe that you exist, but there’s a wonderful fragrance in the air… I don’t believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personalities, beyond invention and disguise, beyond the red ‘S’ you wear on your chest, that makes bullets bounce off. I believe we’re a field of energy dancing for itself, and I don’t care.”

When Catt tried to diffuse the awkwardness by complimenting his outfit, he replied, “I didn’t get dressed up. There is no me. There’s just things happening.”

Fans of the 55-year-old are worried by his behaviour and have been calling out to him on Twitter. One woman wrote, “@JimCarrey, [I] just watched an interview you did with E! News, all I heard was depression talking. I just wanted to say I hope you’re okay!”

Another said, “Is anyone else concerned about Jim Carrey? I hope that everything is okay. Let me know if you need a hug, Jim. #OneDayAtATime.”

A third tweeted, “No really guys, can we send happiness vibes @JimCarrey… I’m worried about him.”
