Here’s How Twitter Reacted To Debra Messing Calling Out E! Over The Gender Pay Gap

The Will And Grace actress spoke out on the Golden Globes red carpet.

Last night’s Golden Globes saw dozens of celebrities wear black outfits to show solidarity with victims of sexual harassment in Hollywood, and Debra Messing went one step further by calling out the huge gender pay gap within the industry.

Speaking to E! presenter, Giuliana Rancic, the 49-year-old said, “I was so shocked to hear that E! doesn’t believe in paying their female co-hosts the same as their male co-hosts. I miss Catt Sadler and so we stand with her.

“Time is up. We want diversity. We want intersectional gender parity, we want equal pay. We want people to start having this conversation that women are just as valuable as men,” the Will & Grace actress added.

Time’s Up is an initiative supported by celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, and Oprah, which is described as a unified call for change from women in entertainment for women everywhere. They want women to be respected in the workplace and to be able to rise up the career ladder in the same way men do, regardless of industry.

The reaction to Debra’s thoughts has been overwhelmingly positive online, with many women applauding her for saying it how it is.
