Pretty Little Liars Star Lucy Hale Hints That She Was Sexually Assaulted Last Night
"My dignity and pride was broken..."
Lucy Hale posted a worrying message on both Instagram and Twitter last night in which she suggested she had been sexually assaulted.
The message, which was typed out and screen grabbed from her Notes app, started with, “I never understood sexual assault until tonight. I always sympathised, but never felt the pain of it until right now.
The 28-year-old went on to say, “My dignity and pride was broken. I am completely at a loss of words. I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”
However, she has since deleted the message from both social media platforms. Nevertheless, fans of the Pretty Little Liars actress are reaching out to her to make sure she’s okay. “I hope you’re okay… I love you so much,” one girl wrote, “and I hope you remember that we are always here for you and I hope you feel better soon.. sending you all the positivity and love?.”

i'm a fan of lucy hale from 2014 and i'm so fucking sad for what happened to her. women are not safe anymore. i'm shaking for the impact her words had to me. "my dignity and pride was broken". this is what happens to women every single day. i'm speechless.

This comes after a number of women in Hollywood, including Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, spoke out about the prevalence of sexual assault in the industry, spurring on campaigns for equality such a #MeToo and #TimesUp.
